Sodick and Celada showcase precision wire EDM at BI-MU 2026

The Sodick ALC400P demonstrated the role of wire EDM in applications where intricate geometry, dimensional accuracy and surface quality are essential. Using controlled electrical discharges to remove material, wire EDM allows manufacturers to produce complex profiles in electrically conductive materials, including hardened tooling materials.

The ALC400P combines Sodick’s linear motor drives and absolute linear scales with a ceramic work zone and advanced discharge control. Together, these features support precise movement and consistent machining performance for demanding components and tooling.

Its iGroove technology rotates the wire during skim cutting, presenting an unconsumed wire surface to the workpiece. This helps improve surface quality and geometric accuracy while minimising wire consumption.
